Jennifer Michalik

Attorney / Mediator / Ad Litem

After nearly thirty years of commuting to the Katy area to work, Jennifer is thrilled to open a practice with Mark out here in Austin County! Jennifer and her husband, John, have raised their twin boys in Bellville, participating in and supporting some of the best family activities there are: Boy Scouts of America, Bellville FFA, 4-H, Austin County Youth Bullseye Club, and tons of programs through Bellville ISD. Now that the boys have started college, she is ready to focus her time and energy on helping her Austin County neighbors with their legal matters.

Jennifer's experience in small business administration and in-house legal and contract matters means that she understands the daily challenges that small businesses face.

During her ten years with Mark's law firm, she has also worked with families to handle probate and probate-alternatives, and has drafted estate planning packages which usually include a will, medical power of attorney, durable power of attorney, HIPAA release, directive to physician, and declaration of guardian for minor children.

After volunteering with Child Advocates, Jennifer realized how critical it can be to advocate for the best interests of a child or an incapacitated adult as a guardian ad litem, and to represent a child or incapacitated adult as an attorney ad litem. It is heartwarming to help families do their best for their loved ones.

Outside of the practice of law, Jennifer is involved with a small hay and cow-calf  operation with her family. She loves watching the mamas raising their babies! She also enjoys helping John at his feed store in New Ulm and working with her honeybees. She and John are learning to be empty nesters and enjoy being involved with their community.
